Chosen is a 501(c)3 non-profit foster-care and adoption support ministry. Chosen wishes for all children to have a safe and loving home by Fostering Forever Families. Chosen supports foster and adoptive families through The Family Closet and offers community education on various adoption and fostering-related topics. Chosen's future vision is to develop a multi-family fostering community in Waukesha.
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved." - Ephesians 1:3-6
Karen had the blessing of speaking recently at the Rotary Club of Wauwatosa, talking about foster-care, adoption and Chosen. Thank you for the opportunity!
Chosen welcomes the opportunity of sharing information about these important topics in our community. Should your business, organization, church or school be interested in having Chosen speak, please contact us!
Chosen is excited to introduce 100 Who Foster Care, a financial partnership program providing needed items for The Family Closet. This outreach matches community donations of children's clothing and other needed items for area foster and adoptive families, kinship caregivers and guardians.
The Family Closet is open to foster, foster to adopt, adoptive, kinship and guardianship families. For more information about how to shop, free of charge, at The Family Closet, click here.
Note: Due to our changing from summer to winter inventory, donations will be temporarily suspended through August 31st, unless you have already talked with us about stopping in! We will continue to work with families who need to shop during the conversion!
As an adoptive child, Amalie Bowling was raised in a Christian home where she was taught that she was chosen in love by God and her parents. The idea of being chosen has been foundational in her life. Her faith in Jesus Christ and her love for children have given her a heart to minister to children
Jason experienced adoption and fostering in different ways through his family and friends. He, too, has a deep passion for children and ministering to them and has been involved with youth and youth ministry for many years.
Together, Jason and Amalie have a passion for all children to feel the love and security of a forever family and to have a relationship with Christ. As foster parents, they have a hands-on opportunity to share their unconditional love with these children and hope one day to be able to adopt children who need a forever family.

Friends of Chosen is a partnership opportunity that supports Chosen financially and prayerfully. Donations will allow additional tangible resources and community education initiatives. Working with the National Christian Foundation (NCF), 100% of all donations go directly to Chosen. To become a Friend of Chosen, please click the "Donate Now" button at the right side of our home page.
On the flipside, whenever I have clothing that we no longer need, I know that
by donating those items to Chosen, they will find a new foster home that is in need
of those items. In the end, I could not be more grateful for the work Chosen does
for foster families all over southeastern Wisconsin."

Dear Lois is a unique perspective of an adoption journey told through letters written to birthmothers, by the adoptive parents, as their children were growing up. The perspectives of the birth family, adoptive family, and adopted children take the reader on an emotional journey from the heartbreak of infertility to the joy of family woven together through adoption.
The mother/daughter author team (Karen Schlindwein and Amalie Bowling), have been promoting the book at various signings in Wisconsin, Iowa, and New York.
Proceeds from Dear Lois are being made to Chosen.
